They could turn a too-close-to-call race into a landslide for President Obama — but by definition they probably won’t.
A nationwide USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll of people who are eligible to vote but aren’t likely to do so finds that these stay-at-home Americans back Obama’s re-election over Republican Mitt Romney by more than 2-1.
Unofficially, a strong majority of Americans favor him, but voter turnout is what will decide victory or loss for Barack Obama.
I’m not being cute when I say I will not associate with people who CAN vote, but didn’t or won’t.
Please, PLEASE register. Please please please
I would be totally okay if Canada and the States instituted the same kind of fine on absentee voters that Australia has. And before people argue about their “constitutional right to abstain from voting” or whatever, it says a lot more about your dissatisfaction if you actively choose to spoil your ballot than if you just stay at home and pretend you’re helping the situation somehow. And if you’re going to be out of the country/your region/can’t make it to the polls, you can arrange to vote ahead of time as long as you’re willing to prepare.
18+ year old USA followers: C’mon. C’MON. Could you just vote? Just vote. It’s not like they make you do this every week or anything. And you get a sticker.
(Sidenote: The average age of poll workers is around 75 in some places. Maybe think about signing up as an election judge. Nice way to contribute, worse ways to kill a day than making your country go, etc etc.)

in other words get off your asses and vote! saying “I support Obama” isn’t going to keep him in office. Your vote will.

Seriously - VOTE! And if you live in a state where you are supposed to mail in your ballot, but you haven’t yet, take it...
